Service for Peace promotes volunteerism and raise youth leaders through the following initiatives.

• The Seasons of Service

Sponsored by the Points of Light Foundation and the Corporation for National and Community Service. SFP continually takes part in several national service days including Martin Luther King Season of Service, Global Youth Service Day, and the Family Volunteer Day.   • MLK Season of Service - We mobilize Americans to observe the Martin Luther King Day holiday, strengthen communities engaged in service, reflect life/teachings of Dr. King and promote the President's Call to Serve.

  • Global Youth Service Day - Tthe largest service event in the world, engaging millions of young people, drawing together a remarkable consortium of local, regional, and national partners, while supporting youth on a life-long path of service and civic engagement.

  • Family Volunteer Day - Showcases the benefits of families working together to serve a cause larger than themselves. Volunteering as a family provides quality time, strengthens communication, and provides opportunities for family members to be role models, while making significant contributions to their communities.

• The Summer of ServiceŽ

A ten to fourteen day summer day camp program designed to involve local youth in an intensive experience of service, to gain leadership skills, to give back to their community and to learn about year round volunteer opportunities in their community.

• International Day of Peace

The International Day of Peace provides an opportunity for individuals, organizations and nations to create practical acts of Peace on a shared date. Use the International Day of Peace annually to highlight the Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for the Children of the World, 2001 to 2010. Established by a United Nations resolution in 1981, the International Day of Peace was first celebrated September 1982.

• Global PeaceMakers Projects

International service projects offering a unique approach to peacemaking by bringing together participants from different races, cultures and religions and transforming them into one family.
