Join Hands Day
May 1, 2004
Service for Peace was involved in two big projects:
1. We were continuing our partnership with the Chesapeake Fraternal Congress to address local community needs. This year we worked with Peace Lutheran Church on four projects: beautifying a local park, creating a vegetable garden, painting Capital View Library, and making hats for sick children with Glories Happy Hats.
2. We have also partnered with Hands on DC to help with the DC Public Schools. This was their 10th year to improve the condition of school buildings and raise money for college scholarships.
The event was a great success with 2500 volunteers participating. Service for Peace contributed to that with a small but powerful team of 15 volunteers
